Biography
Ashley has over 20 years of legal experience as a litigator, in house counsel and most recently an estate planner and trust and estate litigator. Currently, Ashley’s practice is focused on trust, estate, and conservatorship litigation matters. Before joining Keystone, Ashley had her own practice helping individuals and families with estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
Beginning her career in litigation, Ashley spent 10+ years litigating catastrophic injury cases defending the automotive industry in product liability cases. Ashley worked for a nationally recognized trial firm with one of the largest product liability practices in the country. She defended technical cases involving allegations of SUV rollovers and roof crush, brake defects, airbag deployment, and sudden acceleration. She represented some of the largest auto manufacturers in the world.
After many years working with large corporations, Ashley wanted to connect with people. Ashley took an in-house role working at two locally owned Bay Area franchise locations. She helped build the business from the ground up, forming the corporation, obtaining necessary licenses and permits, and developing and implementing human resources policies and procedures. Ultimately, those franchises sold and Ashley transitioned her career into the probate and trust sector.

Education
Ashley received her undergraduate degree in Law & Society, a pre-law major, from University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law, where she served as a member of Law Review and received the Am Jur award in Wills & Trusts. Ashley received her LL.M. in Taxation with honors from Golden Gate University.

Representative Matters
- Successfully negotiated multi-million dollar settlements.
- Handled arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences.
- Obtained favorable outcomes for clients in correcting the title to real property for the purposes of maximizing the step-up in basis at the death of the first spouse.
- Successfully represented fiduciary to obtain court order that out of state property was a trust asset so out of state property could be distributed to beneficiaries.
- Obtained terminating sanctions against plaintiff.
- Created new corporate resolutions for decedent’s corporation to appoint Estate Administrator as Director and Officers of corporation so Estate Administrator could marshal corporate assets, file corporate taxes, and officially close corporation with the Secretary of State.
- Successfully distributed real property, navigated proper allocation of property taxes between current Proposition 19 and prior Proposition 13 for trust administration that had been open for 30 years.
- Successfully formed LLC, Operating Agreement, and funded LLC with trust real property for trust beneficiaries.
- Represented clients on real property transfers without the need for a formal probate
Interests
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors in the beautiful California weather with her husband, three children, and her dogs. She especially loves hiking in nearby trails, growing a vegetable garden in the summer, reading a good book, and traveling.
Ashley has also served on the Board of Directors of Winter Nights Family Shelter, a non-profit that provides temporary shelter for homeless families, since December 2020.
