Biography
Courtney Burten is an associate at Keystone Law Group, P.C., with her primary focus on assisting the firm’s litigation clients. Prior to joining Keystone, Courtney developed a diverse and extensive litigation background at law firms that specialized in bankruptcy and general civil litigation. She has substantial experience with legal research and writing, including motion practice and appellate papers; discovery procedure, including the drafting of discovery, responses to discovery, and preparing for and conducting depositions; trial preparation; and representation of clients at court hearings in both state and federal court.
During law school, Courtney participated in the USC Small Business Clinic, where she directly assisted small business owners in understanding and establishing various business entities in California. This included drafting documents related to the formation, upkeep, operation and merger and acquisition transactions of business entities. After graduating from the USC Gould School of law, Courtney clerked at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Honorable S. Victoria Kaufman, with a focus on analyzing complex substantive matters encompassing all chapters of bankruptcy as well as general civil litigation.
