Benson wants Saints and Pelicans to be removed from trust

Search

Tom Benson, who owns the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans, among other businesses, has filed a lawsuit that seeks to remove the two teams from the trusts he once set up for his daughter, Renee Benson, and his grandkids, Rita and Ryan LeBlanc, The New York Times reported on Wednesday, March 11.

The request, which seeks to remove the trusts’ ownership of the Saints and Pelicans in exchange for promissory notes worth $556 million, would allow Benson to leave the two teams to his third wife.  Benson’s heirs reacted to Benson’s announcement by filing an action, claiming Benson is mentally incapable of managing his affairs, and requested Renee Benson to manage them instead.

Probate and inheritance issues such as those above might affect your well-being in the future. If you wan to know more about how to take care of your welfare and to understand your legal position when facing probate matters in Los Angeles, the attorneys at the www.Keystone-Law.com, might be able to help you.
