Timothy D.F.Barteau Senior Associate

Keystone is excited to announce the hiring of Timothy Barteau as a Senior Associate in our San Francisco office in March 2018! A career litigator, Tim has over a decade of experience before State and Federal Courts, litigating civil, trust, and estate matters. Tim was admitted to practice in California in 2004. His early career was spent litigating complex civil matters, many of which involved potential verdicts in the millions of dollars. Tim went on to spearhead the development of the estate planning and trust and estate administration and litigation department for his prior firm, while maintaining an emphasis in litigation. Thus, in addition to his litigation experience, Tim has extensive estate planning, drafting and administration experience, which he utilizes to provide Keystone’s clients with comprehensive and effective representation in the administration and litigation of trusts and estates.

Tim received his Bachelor’s Degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1999 and his Juris Doctor from Indiana University – Maurer School of Law in 2004. Tim went on to earn his LL.M. (Masters of Laws) in Taxation Law from Golden Gate University in 2013, graduating with honors. He also earned a Certificate in Estate Planning from Golden Gate University in 2014. Tim is very active in the community and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Marin County Bar Association. Tim has also volunteered his time to provide pro bono consultations and answer legal questions for elders in the community. Tim represents clients throughout California, including the San Francisco Bay Area. Welcome Tim!
