Fulton County Superior Judge Robert McBurney ordered Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter Bernice to hand over King’s Bible and Noble Peace prize medal to the court, CNN reported on February 21.
The ruling was made during ongoing litigation between the assassinated leader’s daughter and two sons. The two brothers, who control King’s estate, filed a claim against Bernice, demanding she turn over the items. Meanwhile, Bernice accused her brothers of intending to sell King’s possessions.
Judge McBurney said the items will be stored in a deposit box that only the court can access until the matter is settled.
