Biography

Michael C. Ting is a Senior Associate at Keystone Law Group, P.C., handling probate, estate, and trust litigation matters. Michael has extensive experience litigating cases in Federal District Courts, California Superior Courts, the International Trade Commission, as well as arbitrations in front of JAMS and AAA and the International Trade Commission. Michael has handled appeals before the Federal Circuit and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is familiar with all aspects of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Prior to joining Keystone, Michael co-founded a boutique litigation firm which handled intellectual property, anti-trust, and commercial matters.

Michael is an Adjunct Professor at San Jose State University where he teaches Intellectual Property to students in the Masters of Biotechnology program.

Biography

Education

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a double-major in Psychology and Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.

Representative Matters

  • Negotiated a favorable pre-litigation settlement on behalf of a beneficiary involving claims for breach of fiduciary duty, removal, and surcharge of a sibling trustee.
  • Represented a family member in contesting the appointment of the Decedent’s daughter as personal representative of the estate.
  • Advocated for an heir in a will contest involving claims of undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, and elder financial abuse.
  • Secured the suspension of a co-trustee for breach of fiduciary duty and successfully obtained the appointment of the client as sole acting trustee.

Interests

Outside of the office, Michael enjoys cooking, weight-lifting, and softball.
