Biography

Lindsey F. Munyer, a Partner at Keystone Law Group, P.C., is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law (State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization), and has an LL.M. in Taxation. Lindsey has experience litigating trust and estate matters, and is adept at handling all stages of litigation, including discovery, mediation, law and motion and trials, as well as representing fiduciaries in the administration of estates and trusts. Lindsey has represented clients in a range of capacities including as trustees, beneficiaries, executors, creditors, heirs, and conservators, in all manner of disputes, and for estates valued in the tens of millions of dollars. Lindsey also has a background in tax planning and tax controversy. While working towards her LL.M., Lindsey interned with the I.R.S. Office of Chief Counsel, where she successfully argued a tax deficiency case in Tax Court.

Lindsey has shared her legal knowledge and experience with the Los Angeles community as an adjunct professor of Trusts and Estates with Glendale University College of Law for two years and through speaking engagements on probate matters with the National Business Institute.

Biography

Lindsey F. Munyer, a Partner at Keystone Law Group, P.C., is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law (State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization), and has an LL.M. in Taxation. Lindsey received her undergraduate degree in Business Economics from the University of San Diego, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her law degree from California Western School of Law, where she served as a member of Law Review and graduated magna cum laude. Lindsey’s LL.M. was also received from the University of San Diego.

Representative Matters

  • Identified improper characterization of a testamentary gift by the trustee of a $50 million trust estate, leading to complex and lengthy litigation which resulted in a published Appellate Court decision and which created a new classification of testamentary gift.
  • Successfully represented heir at trial regarding the financial elder abuse of decedent, resulting in an order compensating the estate for all funds wrongfully taken, for double damages and for attorney’s fees.
  • Successfully removed an uncooperative trustee and surcharged such trustee’s entire share of the Trust and appointed clients as interim-trustees to administer trust to final distribution and termination.
  • Successfully litigated the merits of a motion to expunge a Lis Pendens filed against client’s real property resulting in the expungement of the Lis Pendens and the client’s ability to subsequently sell the property.
  • Successfully argued for the resignation of improperly acting trustee and return of all trust assets wrongfully taken by trustee.
  • Successfully defended against bad-faith petition for surcharge against client and secured recovery of attorney’s fees for client.
  • Successfully litigated numerous claims of elder abuse, breach of trust, invalidation of improper estate planning documents and conversion on behalf of heirs and beneficiaries.
