Biography

Larry has over 30 years of litigation experience in probate, general civil litigation, business, and real estate in both State and Federal courts. He has represented conservators, beneficiaries, heirs, executors, trustees, and fiduciaries in probate matters. Larry has also represented clients on 850 petitions, contested conservatorships, reverse mortgage disputes, removal and appointment of fiduciaries, creditor’s claims, beneficiary rights against fiduciary fraud, accounting disputes, and will/trust contests.

Prior to joining Keystone, Larry was a litigation partner at the law firm of Baker, Keener & Nahra LLP. In addition to probate and trust matters, he litigated high value cases, including: real property disputes, defending class actions, represented management and entities in business disputes, corporate, partnership, and limited liability company dissolutions, and defended professionals on professional liability claims.

Larry received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and received his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Representative Matters

  • Prevailed at trial on behalf of conservator in contested conservatorship proceedings
  • Successfully resolved a will and trust contest in favor of caretaker against disinherited beneficiary
  • Favorably resolved financial elder abuse claim in favor of defendant to keep real property purchased from elder
  • Represented Executor against persons who stole property of the estate and unlawfully occupied the decedent’s residence obtaining a return of stolen property and recovery of the residence
  • Represented Trustee against putative spouse’s and extended family’s claimed rights to occupy the decedent’s residence for life
  • Favorably resolved contest between beneficiaries to a life insurance policy
  • Represented Executor against creditor on grossly overcharged home repairs charged to the decedent before death
  • Represented sole beneficiary of multi-unit real property asset against Trust contest by other beneficiaries’ claims to real property
  • Represented beneficiaries against reverse mortgage company’s efforts to enforce rights to decedent’s residence against bequest to named beneficiaries
