Biography
Anita V. Shah is a Senior Counsel at Keystone Law Group, P.C. Anita has over 30 years of litigation experience in probate, business, insurance and employment in both State and Federal courts. Anita started her law career in government practice with the California State Controller’s Office and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. As a former deputy district attorney, Anita first-chaired 20 jury trials and over 60 bench trials and evidentiary hearings, with a 95% success rate. Anita then applied her courtroom experience to civil litigation, focusing on litigating and resolving business, employment and trust and estates cases.
Prior to joining Keystone, Anita practiced as a senior attorney and partner in several boutique law firms in the areas of trust and estate litigation and administration, where she represented trustees, administrators, beneficiaries, heirs, and professional fiduciaries in heavily litigated matters.

Education
Anita received her undergraduate degree in Economics from UCLA and her law degree from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she graduated with distinction (top 25%).
While in law school, Anita gained substantial hands-on experience by earning competitive internships with the East Bay Community Law Center (Berkeley Law School), Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office, and Saperstein, Mayeda & Goldstein. Anita also participated in her McGeorge’s clinical program assisting low-income clients in landlord tenant and family law disputes.

Representative Matters
- Successfully represented son of decedent in action to invalidate decedent’s unrecorded joint tenancy deed transferring valuable property in central Los Angeles against challenge by administrator of decedent’s probate estate.
- Successfully recovered half-million dollars on behalf of brother of decedent against challenge by surviving spouse with purported Qualified Domestic Restraining Order (“QDRO”) on Decedent’s Deferred Compensation Plan.
- Achieved a favorable settlement on behalf of clients accused of financial elder abuse on first day of trial in a heavily litigated five-year case.
- Through heavily litigated challenge to trust amendment, achieved a favorable settlement on behalf of disinherited client.
- Managed litigation against decedent, which included defense of business torts and Marvin claim and obtaining court approval of fees for specialized outside counsel where decedent was holder of numerous medical device patents.
Interests
Outside the office, Anita stays active by long walks and exercise. Anita also enjoys multiple sports as a spectator, including professional and college football, and more recently professional baseball, specifically, the Los Angeles Dodgers. As a mother of two, Anita especially enjoys keeping up with (or keeping tabs on) her young adult children, who live out of state.
