Personal service can now interrupt dinner time. The hours during which a notice or other paper in a civil action may be personally served on a party, attorney, or person 18 years or older at the party’s residence have been expanded from 8 a.m. to 6 pm to 8 am to 8 pm. See Code Civ. Proc. §1011 (amended by Stats 2018, ch 212, effective January 1, 2019).
