Trust and Estates Administration Attorney

Keystone Law Group is seeking a talented Trust and Estates Administration Attorney to enhance our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in probate and trust administration and demonstrate key skills such as strong legal research, persuasive writing, analytical thinking, client service, and teamwork. The attorney will work under the direction of Senior attorneys and Partners and will be assigned as a handling attorney on administration, transactional and non-litigation matters. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner and adapt well to firm processes and technology, and eager to learn a new practice area. The firm will provide extensive training during the onboarding process.

Location

Position is hybrid with 2 days per week in the office or fully remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research legal issues for trust and estates administration matters
  • Draft pleadings, memorandums, orders and other legal documents
  • Attend hearings on a regular basis in probate courts
  • Handle probate administrations from initiation of proceedings to the discharge of personal representative
  • Handle trust administration from initiation of the administration to the termination of the trust
  • Handle transactional and uncontested matters from initiation to conclusion, including but not limited to, spousal property petitions and judicially facilitated property transfers
  • Handle non-contested conservatorship or guardianship matters from initiation of proceedings to representation of conservators or guardians for the duration of these matters
  • Consult and advise personal representatives and trustees on probate and trust administration
  • Other projects, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in probate, trust and estate law
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter with strong legal research and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage cases and clients independently

Education and Experience

  • 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in probate law; will consider experience in estate planning as a substitute
  • Strong academic record, as well as law review membership highly preferred
  • CA Bar membership required

Salary Range

  • $120,000 – $160,000 Annual base salary plus competitive bonuses and benefits
